Vida Healthcare: Continuity of care – sourcing and retaining skilled workers

How we helped

  • Getting the right cover for shifts at the right time
  • Sourcing and retaining skilled workers
  • Preserving continuity of care with ease

The journey

Vida Healthcare specialises in dementia care, offering residential and nursing care, day care and respite services for individuals with various forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

However, like many providers, Vida Healthcare faces challenges in finding and retaining workers with specialised skills necessary for this kind of care. “Getting the right cover at the right time is my main focus,” says roster coordinator Gabriella Zahariev. “My biggest challenge is sourcing workers who specialise in dementia care.”

Enter Florence

I find the platform super easy to use – it’s brilliant,” she explains. “I saw a very quick demo video and didn’t struggle to post or book shifts and I didn’t need further training, which was great.”

“I like the auto-favourite feature,” says Gabriella. “When you find the right worker, it’s very important to get them back whenever possible, to preserve continuity of care – especially in a dementia care setting.

I’ve built a list of Florence nurses that have taken the time to understand us and enjoy working for us – and I invite them back regularly.” “The Florence platform is so easy to use, so I haven’t had to ask for any more training, it’s saved me loads of time – and I don’t have to call anyone. I can just post my shifts. It’s so convenient.”

“What I like most about Florence is that although it’s an online platform, I can still speak to one of the team members if I need support filling shifts,” says Gabriella. “It’s great to have someone I can go to directly if need be.”

“I like the auto-favourite feature,” says Gabriella. “When you find the right worker, it’s very important to get them back whenever possible, to preserve continuity of care – especially in a dementia care setting.”
