How to
register

If you are a nurse, we need your 8-digit CNO registration number so that we can check your registration with the CNO.

We require proof that you’re eligible to work in Canada without restrictions.

If you’re Canadian: we can accept a Passport, Citizenship Card, SIN card or Birth Certificate.

If you’re not Canadian: we can accept a Work Permit, Permanent Residency Card, Study Permit, or SIN Number Documentation. If you’re providing a Work Permit or Permanent Residency Card, they cannot be expired.

We require a negative TB screening within the last six months. You can provide either:

• Proof of a negative 2-step TB skin test within the last 6 months or
• A 1-step test if you’ve previously tested negative
• If you’ve previously tested positive for TB, we require chest X-ray results (within the last year) that state you do not have active TB

We require a VSC in order to ensure the safety and suitability of working within our partner healthcare organizations. This must be completed within the last six months.

Criminal record checks alone are not accepted.

Florence will accept the following:

• Blended First Aid and CPR certificate
• CPR certificate
• First Aid certificate

We can accept recertification training from online providers, as long as you have uploaded proof of previous in-person training.

You’ll need at least 1 year of professional experience as a nurse in Canada. This can include student placement or internship experience.

Certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent. Must be from an accredited program with a successful work placement.

We will also accept internationally trained nurses who are registered with OPSWA.

We require two professional references, and they must provide either their professional email address or their CNO number (if they are a nurse).

The person you provide as a reference needs to be someone who has overseen your clinical experience. You can provide an international reference, but you will need to provide a Canadian reference as well.
