Registration checklist
Here's everything you need to start booking shifts with Florence.
Nurses
Here's what registered nurses and registered practical nurses will need to provide via the app:
College Registration
If you are a nurse, we need your 8-digit CNO registration number so that we can check your registration with the CNO.
Study or Work Permit
If you’re Canadian: we can accept a Passport, Citizenship Card, or Birth Certificate
If you’re not Canadian: we can accept a Work Permit, Permanent Residency Card, Study Permit, or SIN Number Documentation. If you’re providing a Work Permit or Permanent Residency Card, they cannot be expired.
TB screening within the last 6 months
- Proof of a negative 2-step TB skin test within the last 6 months or
- A 1-step test if you’ve previously tested negative.
If you’ve previously tested positive for TB, we require chest X-ray results (within the last year) that state you do not have active TB.
Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months
We collect a VSC in order to ensure the safety and suitability of working within our partner healthcare organizations.
We require a valid VSC that has been completed within the last year.
Criminal record checks alone are not accepted.
First Aid and CPR
Florence will accept the following:
- Blended First Aid and BCLS/CPR certificate
- BCLS, ACLS (or CPR) certificate
- First Aid certificate
We can accept recertification training from online providers, provided you have uploaded proof of previous in-person training.
1 year of Work Experience
You’ll need at least 1 year of professional experience as a nurse in Canada. This can include student placement or internship experience.
References
We require two professional references, and they must provide either their professional email address or their CNO number (if they are a nurse).
The person you provide as a reference needs to be someone who has overseen your clinical experience. You can provide an international reference, but you will need to provide a Canadian reference as well.
Personal Support Workers
Here's what personal support workers will need to provide via the app:
Personal Support Worker Certificate
Certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent. Must be from an accredited program.
Study or Work Permit
If you’re Canadian: we can accept a Passport, Citizenship Card, or Birth Certificate
